Qualcomm files case against the Meizu in court of USA, Germany and France
Qualcomm files case against the Meizu in court of USA, Germany and France:
Qualcomm seems trying to change the Chinese approach with the patenting and licensing. After official complaining and threats to take Meizu to court for allegedly using their 3G and 4G radio standards with no authorization, there seem to be no agreement to be in the place.
And odds are they simply couldn’t agree with the terms, because Meizu were willing to negotiate directly but Qualcomm disagrees with the validity of his statement.
Now San Diego based chip maker is taking Meizu to court in the USA, Germany and France. Actually they have filled complaints and action with the USA International Trade Commission (ITC), the Germany Regional Court and the French authorities. Qualcomm paid around 1 billion to settle an antitrust investigation brought by the Chinese authorities this year.
Outcome of this action is not predictable. But Qualcomm is not a easy contender for sure. Meizu really have to watch out them.
